Every Monday there will be a new still life set up for anyone who is interested in taking part. There will be a number of photographs, and from different angles. Make it your own. There are no rules
A collection of objects, selected according to an arbitrary rule
If you make a copy of an object, or have two, three or twenty eight objects their significance begins to change. Individuality is lost in the crowd. Or, the ordinary starts to take on a meaning. The sameness makes the objects a singular mass, yet slight differences within the individuals in the mass are accentuated.
Friday 18th September – This day workshop with Francesca Shakespeare will explore the thrill of mixed media and versatility of plaster and bas relief.
Some people in this group will have completed the Beginners Drawing into Oil Painting Course. Others will be joining without having done it. It doesn’t matter so long as you have done a bit of painting with oils this could be the class for you.
In this class you will think about your body as you draw a line. Yoga helps to put you in touch with how your entire body ‘feels’ – do the muscles contract here? where is my balance focused? am I tense, or relaxed? From this you will be doing various drawing exercises. The results are exciting and open a new language of marks and expression.
