We have new tutors, new subjects, new approaches. Join us by the River Dever whether you are experimenting with clay and natural dyes, weaving using markmaking (much as you would with drawing) or exploring watercolour with the river as your inspiration.


Watercolour on the Riverbank

Join Christine Forbes looking at a contemporary approach to watercolour practise. This is an opportunity for artists with a bit of watercolour experience to work next to the riverbank. Trees, undergrowth and flowing water – all of nature’s treats in full summer, right next to the studio. 


Painting with Fibres

In this 2 day Masterclass you will explore the concepts of surface design through sampling and learning a variety of wet felting techniques.Sarah is an experienced, international, felt tutor. You will focus on design and colour mixing of the fibres, cutting and layering techniques to produce samples and a finished collage. 


Life Drawing

Peter will guide you through a full day of life drawing looking at different approaches to drawing, different speeds and times, methods and materials.

Draw into Weave

A two-day taster workshop that introduces you to designing for weave, translating line in drawing into ‘drawing’ with threads creating woven cloth, producing samples and framed artworks.

The course is suitable for the beginner to experienced weaver and is taught in response to the individual’s level.  


Kle – Ceramic Breakfast Set, Foraged Pigment

Local ceramicist, Tash will introduce you to the art of hand building ceramics. You will learn how to sculpt your own breakfast bowl, cup, granola spoon and plate. The area around the studio will be used to forage for your own pigments from local earth materials.

Pieces will be glazed after the class.
