The Autumn term is a wonderful time to learn about watercolours; the warm colours of autumn leaves and the rich variety of harvested fruits make interesting subjects for this light filled media.

What to expect on this course
This is a beginners course introducing you to painting with this light filled medium. On this 4 day course of water colour painting, you will explore translucence and transparency. You will be playing with colour to create form, rhythm, the value of tone, harmony and discord, and…surprise. Sarah will show you many techniques; like tools in a box you will discover ways to create light and atmosphere.
Over the time of the course you will be taking inspiration from artists, such as Cezanne, Paul Klee, Elizabeth Blackadder, Edward Hopper and others. Most importantly you will be trusting and training our own eyes to interpret what is in front of you, by making notes like music, of beauty.
