There are two classes over the following two Wednesdays – a last gasp before Christmas. Life drawing, and Through a Glass – Translucent Problems
It is so easy to get in a rut. Sometimes you might not notice the rut. This class is a liberating approach to drawing. It is not essential to go wild every day, but never taking your drawing to new and feral places is limiting.
On the course you will look at expansive panoramas, and smaller, more intimate spaces. The grandeur of nature, and the human influence on landscapes will be explored.
Size Matters sounds too obvious to be of interest, but it goes to the heart of the problems most people have with their work – how to deal with composition.
At Hampshire Art studio we are delighted to welcome Katie Sollohub, First Prize winner of the 2020 Derwent Drawing Prize, announced in April this year. This is a deserving accolade for her ongoing commitment to her work, through exploratory practice. Join her on this workshop and share her excitement and enthusiasm for drawing.
Monday, September 14th – After a walk down our lane my pockets bulge with flints, and bones, feathers and sticks. In their way these bits and bobs describe my walk, my environment and my interests. These are the things that I like to draw. Join me for a walk.
