  • Gail Brown, Art Historian with Tangerine Talks
  • Tuesday 7th June
  • 6.00 – 7.00pm

Art is an invaluable way to understand and document our changing attitudes towards the natural world. Our ancestors invested nature with magic andpower. Gods once resided in the woods, the winds, the rivers and all of nature was suffused with a spiritual energy.

This talk, designed to complement the exciting Landscape Workshops taking place at HAS in June, will look at how artists from the last 100 years have responded sensitively and eloquently to the British landscape. Sometimes seeking solace and comfort, sometimes expressing the deep heritage and history still alive in the landscape.

Review Modern British Landscape Painters, June Talks 22.
