Drawing, Size Matters

This sounds like it is too obvious to be of interest, but we all know how important size and shape are, both in the physical engagement with creating a large piece, and the perception of it. Size, scale and shape are important elements of composition. Exploring composition, size and shape will be the task of the day.

What to expect on this course

We will start the day with quick drawing exercises.

The day will be divided into sections looking at different size drawings, using different materials and drawing on different size and shape of paper/card/found materials. You will be working on the floor, on tables and on easels. Please wear appropriate clothes.

The day will include comparison of different pieces, how they work together, and a joint project – a larger piece worked on by the entire group.

Materials

Please look at the materials list for the three drawing days.
