Classes for June

Join our talented group of tutors for painting and drawing workshops in June. Enjoy the chalk stream and countryside setting of our studio.

Responding to Place – Acrylics

The landscape around our Bransbury studio is often referred to as ‘quintessential Hampshire’, with its chalkstream, thatched cottages, Bransbury Common, farmland and byways. There are images of such landscapes on biscuit tins and jigsaw puzzles in every gift shop in the country. In this workshop you will be encouraged to think about how it feels to be in the landscape, and part of it. You will be in an ancient landscape, walking in the footsteps of people long gone. However your experience of the time at Bransbury combines both the present and the past, and links across time.

On the Shoulders of Giants

You have done Beginners’ Oil Painting courses, maybe done some painting on your own, or maybe you are a bit stuck about what to do next. Now is the moment to get some input from other artists Join Kate Measham, initially at the excellent Southampton City Art Gallery for a fact finding mission, and then in the studio at Bransbury. This is an exciting way to learn about oil painting.

Oil Painting from Life, at Home

From small beginnings follow Michael Weller through different areas of painting, all from life, and all at home. Each day you will be painting subjects you know intimately. Rediscover, reinterpret and enjoy the thrill of your everyday objects and settings.
