All our April and May Zoom classes are recorded, and we send access codes to students to use in conjunction with the classes. This has proved to be a popular addition to ZOOMing. In addition, all of the online courses have dedicated WhatsApp groups for easy sharing of images, support and encouragement. We hope you all enjoy these useful additions. The WhatsApp groups and access to the videos close 2 weeks after the course finishes.
Drawing is a skill. It can be taught, and you can practise. You can lose yourself in the process, and make a meditation out of the pleasures and frustrations of drawing. How do you take another step and make your drawing really interesting – especially for you, the artist?

What to expect on Drawing Revisited
This class is aimed at students wishing to continue to explore drawing.
This course is based on Still Life and Drawing to give you a framework for your work. You will be encouraged to try things in a different way, to take risks, to experiment and to enjoy the process. Each week you will look at Still Life with a new approach and encouraged to ‘make it interesting’.
There will be optional homework between classes.
Materials
Below is a list of the basic materials needed. I find I am on a constant lookout for new materials and interesting equipment. Use this list as a starting point.
- Charcoal, different sizes
- Mix of pencils
- water soluble graphite
- knife, or pencil sharpener
- mix or rubbers
- chamois leather sponge, available from halfords, or a piece of chamois leather to rub out but not erase entirely
- Indian ink, dipping pens, calligraphy type brush
- pritt stick, masking tape
- A1 cartridge paper, Newsprint cheap paper, wallpaper lining paper
- scissors
